The balancing process involves spinning the rotating assembly of the turbo to speeds that the components will see in the field. By doing this, the smallest imbalance can be rectified. This provides for the quickest spool and longest service life. VSR balancing is not the same as balancing!!! Most rebuilt and aftermarket turbos are NOT VSR balanced. All EVP Stage 6 turbos come with a VSR balance report.

EVOLUTION POWERSPORTS 2018 120HP BASE MODEL X3 UPGRADE PACKAGES
BRP has given consumers a value priced X3 rated at 120 HP stock. The drivetrain, turbocharger and injectors are identical to the higher horsepower versions. This means that with tuning and a few parts, the base model can make the same power as the X3-R, XDS, XRS and XC models. Here are the items that differentiate the base model from its brothers:
Base model does not have an intercooler
Utilizes the same fuel pump assembly as the 2017 models
Stock programming is VERY Docile
EVP has created packages that will allow this base model to make the same horsepower as the the as the 2018 172 hp version or the higher horsepower EVP tunes! With the 2018 fuel pump assembly, we can tune it to the same power as the big brother versions! Over 185 wheel horsepower (230 engine hp) is achievable! NOTE: Some customers have asked for tuning option that does not require an intercooler. While this is possible to make a higher horsepower number for a very short dyno run, the fact is the engine power is limited by intake temperature on pump gas – it is only possible to make elevated power for a couple of seconds before the engine must derate to prevent detonation due to high intake temperatures. It is not worth the risk to do a tune without adding an intercooler.

CAN AM MAVERICK X3 AIR/OIL SEPARATOR “CATCH CAN"
What is an air/oil separator or “catch can” and why do you need one? The factory recirculates crankcase air back into the intake. This air contains oil, moisture and other combustion byproducts which contaminates the air that is being fed to the turbocharger. The oil and water infused air coats the turbocharger compressor blades, charge tubes, inter cooler and intake valves. It can also change the air/fuel ratio and lower the effective octane of the mixture being introduced into the cylinder. Oil has a very low knock threshold, therefore the more oil contained in the incoming air, the lower the effective knock protection of whatever fuel is being used.
The EVP Air/Oil Separator or “Catch Can” is designed specifically for the Can Am X3 and eliminates the issues described above. Our CNC machined billet aluminum separator mounts to the frame rail above the clutch housing. The OEM crankcase vent hose is simply rerouted to the new location. The EVP separator has a cleanable filter element, pre filter and features a port at the bottom for periodic emptying of the contaminants. A silicone cap is supplied to block off the port on the intake boot where the OEM breather hose is connected. All hardware is stainless steel and the body of the separator is powder coated black.
EVOLUTION POWERSPORTS SILICONE CHARGE TUBES WITH BOV PORT
The EVP reinforced silicone charge tubes for the X3 are in stock and ready for big boost! Our direct replacement boost hoses have been burst tested to over 100 psi and come with high strength T-Bolt clamps for the throttle body and both sides of the intercooler(the turbocharger clamp stays OEM) The tubes have a BOV port and an extra port for a boost gauge. Not only are our charge tubes super strong and burst proof, but they add a bit of bling as well!
